About

This is the story of how we found out about you and how we felt, the tears, the fears, the love, and above all else the joy that we feel just about you, my son.

A year after marrying my best friend I had received the best news possible! I was excited but in disbelief since I felt I needed to do so much to prepare for you, so I was working towards all those small steps. I wanted to make sure I did the right things before bringing you into this world and so the journey began, and I had accomplished all that before you showed up. Before our 1-year anniversary trip I took a pregnancy test and decided to take a shower while I waited for the test results. I thought it wouldn't have been positive, so I ended up cleaning the dishes and doing other things around the house before coming back to look at the test, and to my surprise it was positive! I quickly ran into the room where your father was doing his annual reviews. I showed him the test and I think he was just as shocked as I was when he saw it. “We are having a baby?” he asked, and I followed up with “I think so… I need to take another one”

So I decided to take another test in case it was a false positive. That test almost immediately showed that I was indeed pregnant.

As we went on our trip to Puerto Rico, we had to keep you in mind the entire time. We did so many things and had so much fun doing everything on the island as we got to see the different views and you were right there with me inside my tummy just growing and having fun.

The first time I saw you, you looked like a little dot, but you were there! It made me feel happy to see you and gave me all the butterflies in my stomach.

I got to see you again at 11 weeks.

I couldn't believe how much you had grown and that now you were looking more like a baby! We had plenty of scares, but we were always excited to see you grow.

At the 20 weeks mark we found out you were a boy! I can't believe how beautiful you looked, and you were growing like a weed. Currently, you love when mommy eats fruit and you're always pushing me to eat anything that has garlic in it, especially yummy Greek food - which Daddy doesn't like!

I guess what I am saying is that we are happy to be your parents and that you chose us, because I know that I am going to love you forever and that you will always be my baby boy. I am happy you made me a mother and I can't wait for you to meet your amazing family when you get here.
